Thanksgiving Day

Did I mention I got invited to a friend's house to celebrate Thanksgiving this year?

I didn't?

Maybe it's because I've been sleeping it off ever since.

Nice wreath. Can you see me in it?

While waiting for dinner to be served, I wandered around and looked at all the decorations that were out.

There were a lot of them.

My friend is an artist who likes to decorate for the holidays.

I was getting hungry... but just around the time I started thinking about breaking into the oranges, dinner was served!

Look at this bounteous spread! Mmm turkey.

The food, a little closer. Mmmm.

We ate and ate until we could eat no more. But even then we weren't finished!

It was time for dessert.

There was cheesecake with raspberry sauce.

Ohohohhh cheesecake.

There was also pumpkin pie. Ohohohhhh pie.

And there was even more food to take home! Really!

While everyone else played games after dinner, I fell into a deep food coma.

My secret revealed

Hello, my name is Legoman, and for years I've harbored a terrible secret.

I haven't wanted to let anyone know about my condition. But I think it's about time I was honest with people.

I have Lego pattern baldness.

Oh, the shame of it! I feel like hiding behind a mask and never letting anyone see my true face again.

Unfortunately, this isn't a very good look for me.

However, thanks to the miracle of interchangeable parts, I do have options.

I could wear a snazzy hat, for example. Very becoming, though it does make me look like I'm going to loaf around all day.

Or I could go with the old business-in-the-front, party-in-the-back look.

This one will look great if I ever decide to go into the military.

Groovy baby, yeah!

Well, don't wait up for me. I might be a while trying on new hair.

What the...?

So today I was just minding my own business, working on my tan and chillaxin' on the deck...

when I had an unexpected visitor.

What is this? Where are you taking me? Can't I at least put on some pants first?!

CURSE YOU, SEAFAIR PIRATES!

Booooooored again.

You know what? I'm bored again. Boooooooo-ooooooored.

I hope something interesting will happen today. Ho hum...

OUCH! Who dropped this turtle on me?

This is PurpleTech the robot. I taught him the secret Lego handshake even though he is not a Lego. (I'm pretty sure he won't tell.)

We were getting along just fine when suddenly...

Ouch! I was hit in the head from above by flying space debris.

Who's this guy? Hey, this is the awesome kid's pen pal!

I guess I'm not bored any more. At least I don't want to get hit by anything falling from above any more.

Special thanks to Westley for taking pictures of me today.

Booooooooored.

Know what? I'm bored.

It's a nice place and all, but nothing exciting ever happens around here.

I just sit around waiting for something interesting to happen...

but it seems like nothing ever does.

I don't think a little excitement is too much to ask for, do you?

Just a little something out of the ordinary would do.

Maybe going out to dinner. I'm really jonesing for some Dungeness crab.

With plenty of melted butter... mmmm.

But I'm not choosy.

Even a burger would hit the spot right now.

Anything to break up the monotony.

In the meantime, I sit and dream of better days...

days when I wasn't so bored.

*sigh* Time to go home...

It's been really fun, but it's time for me to depart. I only wish I could have had another week here to visit and do more fun stuff. But, as they say, we'll always have Paris. (Hmm... Paris... there's a thought.)

Just one more thing:

OH YEAH! Found one! Though it's not quite what I expected.

A day in Berkeley

Today we're going to fabulous Berkeley.

And here is Marcia, my lovely hostess for the day.

We are at La Note for lunch. Mmmmmm, La Note.

What should I choose? Lots of things on the menu sound delicious. A lot of breakfast items sound really good (gingerbread pancakes? Mmmm!), but since it's lunchtime...

I'll have a baguette au pâté with petits cornichons and tossed greens. Mmmm, delish.

After a leisurely lunch, we went shopping. Here's a somewhat macabre collection of doll parts. But I guess it's not really any stranger than the Build-a-Mini section of the Lego store.

Ariel? Is that you?

They also had about a bazillion little spools of perle cotton in every color you could imagine, plus a few you can't.

Then we went looking for cheese in the Pasta Shop at Rockridge Market Hall. Ah, fromage! Quite a lot of local cheeses, too. (I like Mt. Tam.)

Adventure! Excitement! Cheese! And no frogs! It was a good day.
