Day 2

You'll never guess what we did today.

Actually, you probably will, since I sort of gave it away earlier.

We were there to witness the final launch of the space shuttle Discovery.

The Space Center is pretty cool. There are lots of things to see and do.

There are old astronauts...

and there are young astronauts.

There are huge displays like the Explorer...

and small (but awesome!) displays like the LEGO Rover.

This being Florida, there are even real alligators. This one came out of the water just to have his picture taken.

But all that paled in comparison to our real reason for being there -- seeing the shuttle. Here's the countdown! (It actually took a lot longer than you'd think, since they stop the countdown to make sure everything is OK.)

All sorts of people gathered in the Rocket Garden for a good view of the shuttle.

We were all watching the screen to see when it was going to happen... and eventually:

KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Day 1

So, remember all the big bumps and how long the plane ride took and everything? And how I wondered if I should have brought my passport?

At first, I thought I was right. Best food in East Africa? I must have left the country.

But then I said to myself, "Hey, self, what is Mount Everest doing in Africa?" The last time I checked, Mount Everest was in Nepal... and that's in Asia.

And now there are dinosaurs?!? What is this place, anyway?

Ah. Disney's Animal Kingdom. That would explain it.

But then that would mean... yes! YES! I'm in Disney World!

This is the Tree of Life. As you can see, it's pretty awesome.

Oh, and this is Lego Dude. He also likes to go out and have adventures, but he does it through geocaching. It sounds kind of interesting. I don't know if I'd want to carry around a big tag with me, though.

Next up: the final frontier. (No, really!)

Oh. Man.

The stuff I have to show you and the places I have been!

There's too much, and I am too tired right now. But if you want to get an idea of where I am, take a look at the "Where has Legoman been?" map over on the sidebar. It's pretty amazing.

Oh, and I have just one thing to show you for now:

Yes, that is the Space Shuttle Discovery.

'Nother big bump!!

Soooo tiiiired. I was just falling asleep when the plane bumped down again.

This flight is taking so much longer than when I went to Disneyland. It makes me wonder where these people are going. Should I have gotten a passport?

Big bump!

There was a very big bump just now. I guess the plane has landed. But I'm still in the suitcase so we can't be at our final destination yet.

Why can't suitcases be built with windows in them?!

It's cold in here.

It's also oddly familiar. Almost as though I've done this before. Hmm.

I hope the wait won't last too long. There's not much to do in this suitcase except sit and think, and maybe eat some toothpaste. (Mmm, minty.)

Ennuiiiii....

It's been nice to have a little break from traveling after all my adventures during Christmas vacation. But it's been over a month, and my feet want to roam.

I want to travel again.

I want to go to a strange new place. To look at new people and civilizations. To boldly go where no Lego has gone before!

Wonder where that would be?
