Going home

Well, it's time to leave Southern California. I knew this day would come. I just didn't think it would come so quickly.

Goodbye, weird Southern California architecture.

Goodbye, birds of paradise blooming everywhere.

Goodbye, big LAX sign.

Goodbye, cool control tower that looks like it came from a science fiction movie.

And good riddance, TSA, which apparently thinks a 14-year-old girl might be a dangerous terrorist and therefore deserves a security pat-down. I won't miss you at all.

I got me a bad case of the Airport Blues. I should have packed a harmonica.

The family tried to cheer me up by getting me some ice cream. It helped a little.

Since I wasn't hiding in the suitcase this time, I decided it was important to be prepared for the flight.

Captain Midnight, Soozcat and Miss V informed me that protective headgear wasn't necessary, however.

Instead they taught me proper safety procedures for taking Lego friends on airplanes.

It was my first adventure in the big world.

I'm going back to my own family and the land of rain. But I think I'd like to have another adventure soon...

Disney days, Part 4

I was excited on the bus today. "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"

"WE'LL GET THERE WHEN WE GET THERE!" said Captain Midnight. Gee, what a grouch.

I was very patient on the Disneyland Railroad.

Then we got to "it's a small world," which was all fancied up for Christmas.

We waited in line FOREVER.

But when we finally got on the ride, we got to see the North Pole.

Also, Santa Claus!

And mermaids singing "Jingle Shells" instead of "Jingle Bells."

And some other stuff too.

We walked over to Toontown to see Mickey, but sadly he wasn't at home. His own little musical fountain was pretty cool.

Maybe some day they'll have a fountain dedicated to... me, Legoman!

To make up for not being able to meet Mickey, Captain Midnight and Soozcat said they had another place they'd like to show me.

And... here it is!

The mighty mighty Lego store! It was full of awesomeness.

I got to meet Darth Lego.

I got to meet Woody.

I even got to meet some guy who lives in a pineapple under the sea.

Guys! Guys? Let me in, guys, I can help with firefighting!

But I guess they couldn't hear me.

There were lots of building bricks in the Lego store.

The best, though, was the Build a Mini section.

I decided to dive right in and make a new friend.

And here's the new friend I made.

She even taught me the secret Lego handshake. Pretty cool.

It was so fun I decided to make another friend.

Almost done.

Ta-da!

Then I taught him the secret Lego handshake.

He told me he thought I looked like Roy Orbison. I'm not even sure who that is.

Anyway, we went to Star Trader to look around at some cool stuff.

We found an old arcade behind Star Trader.

Look, it's THE CLAW!

The Claw decides who will stay and who will go!

It was fun, but I couldn't get anything out of it.

So I decided to play some air hockey instead. Whee!

Soozcat pointed out that we hadn't done anything in Fantasyland yet, so we walked up to the castle...

Then we walked through the castle...

And here's the other side.

We then rode on Peter Pan's Flight.

This meant more waiting in line. Blah. I don't like waiting.

So I started looking around for things to do. Arr! There be gold in this here window!

Captain Midnight decided he'd had enough when I started to climb the pole, though.

The ride was fun, but it was starting to get late. We rode the Snow White ride and the Storybook Land canal boats, and walked through the Sleeping Beauty Castle magic windows, but it was too dark to get any good pictures of those.

We did manage to get one good picture of Snow White's wicked stepmother staring down at us from her window.

Goodnight, Disneyland. It's been a great visit.
